Marmara University, Vocational School of Health Services First and Emergency Aid Program was established on 30.05.2000 with the approval of YÖK and started education in 2004 by taking its first students.
Degree Awarded:
Graduates who successfully complete the program are awarded an associate degree diploma in the field of First and Emergency Aid and receive the title of Emergency Aid Technician.
Admission and Registration Requirements:
Students are admitted with the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) Basic Proficiency Exam (TYT).
Rules on the Recognition of Prior Learning:
Students studying at our university may be exempt from some courses within the framework of certain regulations. If the course content is approved by the school administrative board and applied within the deadline, students may be exempted from the specified courses.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations:
To successfully complete all the courses available in the program and to have obtained a weighted GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.
Program Profile:
Our aim in the program; In disasters such as accidents, fires and other emergencies such as heart attack and respiratory failure, it is to apply the necessary first aid at the scene, to ensure that the patient is transported to a health institution in a timely and undamaged manner with a well-equipped ambulance, to train health personnel who can apply qualified health interventions, who are careful, cold-blooded and have a strong sense of responsibility, and who can communicate well with others.
Employment Profiles of Graduates:
Students who graduate from the First and Emergency Aid Program in line with the competencies they have gained; They are employed in public and private institutions serving in the health sector, universities, emergency services of hospitals, land, air and sea ambulances.
Transition to Higher Degree Programs:
Students who successfully complete the First and Emergency Aid Program can transfer vertically to the "Emergency Aid and Disaster Management", "Nursing", "Nursing and Health Services" undergraduate programs of universities if they are successful in the Vertical Transfer Exam (DGS).
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading:
Midterm and final exams, project evaluation, laboratory theoretical and practical exams are held every semester for students who attend classes in an academic year. Students are required to attend 70% of the classes. Relative system is used in measurement and evaluation.
Graduation Requirements:
Students who successfully complete the Emergency and First Aid Program are required to complete a total of 130 ECTS credits in 4 semesters in order to graduate; The cumulative grade point average (GPA) of theoretical and practical courses must be at least 2.00.
Facilities:
The courses in the primary and emergency aid program curriculum cover the education and internship practices in the content of the modules under these courses.
In the Primary and Emergency Care Program, 1 Dr. Assist. Member, 1 Lecturer, 1 Health Technician. In addition, instructors assigned from other programs and faculties work in the execution of the program courses.
